Spring 2023
Reflection

Highlights

  • I graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience with College Honors. My freshman self would be so proud of where I am now. I worked hard to get into the Neuroscience major and achieved my dream of studying the nervous system. Although I was plagued by moments of self-doubt as a budding researcher, I ultimately developed a project I'm passionate about and wrote a 40-page senior thesis while getting funded for my work. I've gone through all sorts of ups and downs over the past four years but I'm grateful for the countless experiences that have shaped my educational journey.

  • I delivered the 2023 Honors graduation keynote addressHonors has been such a central aspect of my college experience, so I was grateful for the opportunity to speak with two of my peers at our graduation. In my speech, I compared the timeline I made in the Honors Suite for the 60th anniversary campaign to our cohort's timeline in Honors. I also reflected on shared values that Honors Huskies embody: authentic community building, creative thinking, and global citizenship.

  • I made the most of my last quarter. From exploring picnic spots to getting back into golfing, I had so much fun enjoying the outdoors and making memories with the people I love.

Goals

  • Travel with family. I'm excited to travel to Cancun with my family this summer! My bucket list for this trip includes scuba diving and jet skiing.

  • Present at the ConnectUR conference. Almost a year after Sophie and I came up with the idea to write a publication about research mentorship, we just submitted our manuscript and look forward to presenting our work at the ConnectUR conference!

  • Begin my job as a Clinical Research Coordinator. In this role, I look forward to collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, physicians, and study participants and contributing to the amazing research that our team is doing.
